Not sure wtf is up with the light source...
I realized how much I suck at CGing because this picture looks very... unsatisfying to me, haha.
MUSSSSSSTTT PRACTICE.
This is the only serious CG I've done all summer... haha wow.
and that is largely because i've spent all my time like that person in the picture. HM.

The key to CG is the light sources. I have trouble because I only think about the primary light source and don't know how the light bounces. That looks like you have the same sort of troubles. A good way to fix lighting troubles is to practice on real objects. Sketching different types of lighting from actual objects like apples and people are good ways of understanding the primary and secondary light sources.
